Is it normal for an Audi gearbox fluid change to take only one hour?
#1
So I came out of the workshop yesterday feeling happy, and then about an hour later that happy feeling turned into doubt. My Audi A6 has done around seventy five thousand kilometres, and I booked a gearbox fluid change at a small shop near my house because I did not want to wait for a problem. The guy was friendly and the price seemed fair, but the whole job took only about one hour, and that is what is bothering me now. At night I started reading to check myself, and I found an Exclusive Audi Transmission Repair fluid change walkthrough that said a proper job has a few steps people sometimes skip, like warming the gearbox to the right temperature, checking the level at the end, and changing the filter too. I do not remember him saying anything about a filter. My receipt just says gearbox service and a total price, with no fluid type and no amount written. The car drives fine and the shifts feel normal, maybe a little smoother, but I know trouble can show up later. Should I call him and ask, or will that sound rude? Also, how long did your fluid change take, and did your shop change the filter as well? And what should a normal receipt show after this kind of job? I would like to know if I am just worrying too much.
