My Cooper's white roof is a mess, detailing question
#1
I love my Cooper but the white roof and mirror caps are genuinely killing me. They've gone from crisp white to this dull greyish yellow and no amount of washing brings them back. I read somewhere it's oxidation from the sun and heat and that it needs polishing rather than scrubbing. The body paint is fine actually, it's just the roof and the bonnet stripes that look tired. A friend sent me this link, https://exoticcarcare.ae/mini-cooper-det...abu-dhabi/, after he got his Clubman done, and said they knew how to handle the roof and the vinyl stripes without damaging them. My worry is whether polishing the roof actually restores the white or if it needs a respray. Also, can the bonnet stripes be revived or do they just get replaced? Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with this on their Mini, since it seems to be a common thing with these cars in this climate.
