Can Navigator brake pads be changed in one day with parts in stock?
#1
My Lincoln Navigator needs front brake pads, and the squeal has gotten loud enough that my wife makes me park far from the school gate. I only have one working day free this week, so I cannot leave the car for long. The car has about eighty thousand kilometres, and the pads were never changed. I live in Dubai, and a friend told me a good workshop can finish a front pad job in a few hours if they have the parts. Another friend said Lincoln parts are not always on the shelf, so some places make you wait for days. I looked online for a Fast brake pad change for Lincoln Navigator in Dubai, but every page said quick and cheap, so I still do not know what is realistic. Should I phone first and ask if they have my pads in stock? Is it better to drop the car early in the morning? Do they check the discs and the brake fluid at the same time, or is that extra? Is it normal to ask for the old pads back so I can see the wear? Also, should I drive gently for a day after the job? What should it cost on a big SUV like this? If you did a quick brake job on a Navigator, please tell me how long it took, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
