Just bought a Bentley, so which film do I trust on a car like this?
#1
Three weeks ago I picked up a used Bentley Continental, and I am honestly more nervous than excited. The paint is in perfect shape, and I want to keep it that way, but I have never put film on any car, let alone one this expensive. Every shop I called gave me a different answer. One told me to use a thick, glossy film for the best protection, another said a thinner one looks more natural on curved panels, and a third said the brand does not matter at all. I went home and tried to find out which paint protection film suits luxury cars best, and I still came away unsure, because every page talked about brands and warranties but nobody explained what actually matters on a car with expensive paint. So I want to ask owners of high end cars. Does thick film show an orange peel look on curved bodywork, or does a good installer avoid that? How do they handle the edges and tight corners on a car with so many curves? I also wonder if the film can damage the original paint when it comes off years later, because resale value matters to me. Is it smarter to cover the full car, or only the front? And do you trust a shop to wrap the car in their own workshop, or would you ask them to see a finished luxury car first? Another thing is the warranty. Does it cover yellowing and lifting, and does it still count if the shop closes later? If you protect a car like this, please tell me what you chose, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
