Restoration and Revival Process:

With only a limited budget and a three-week timeline for analog editing on BetaSP tape and the absence of digital effects and technology, the creator, Jack Shrum, encountered several editing errors and limitations that prevented the inclusion of special effects and the creation of a true Hi-Fi Stereo Soundtrack for the classic cult film. However, thanks to VHSHITFEST, creating a Blu-ray release of the original BetaSP version and a must-see documentary (see below to purchase) this has inspired Jack and Cabin Productions to restore and revive the film according to his original vision.

Here are the primary restoration and revival features introduced by the Revived and Enhanced version by Cabin Productions:

  • Supervised, generated, and guided by the original creator Jack Shrum in an effort to revitalize his initial vision.

  • Correction of initial post-production mistakes.

  • Reinstated 2 previous scenes that did not make the original cut.

  • Thoroughly reworked, edited, and remastered on a scene-by-scene basis.

  • Comprehensive remix and enhancement of the entire movie soundtrack in true 2.0 Stereo sound.

  • Addition and enhancement of missing dialog, sound effects, including those that were absent in the original film.

  • Professional color correction and meticulous detail enhancement, performed scene by scene.

  • Incorporation of new "special effects" to elevate the creator's initial vision.

  • Restoration to the authentic native aspect ratio of 1.33:1 (4:3).

  • Reverting to the original 16mm native film speed of 24fps.

    The original soundtrack of the Blood Hunter movie has undergone a thorough remastering process, encompassing all 13 tracks, complete with the original vampire sound effects, and a fresh remix by VX, all of which were part of the score composed by Sean Michael Thomas. Furthermore, this release also features the inclusion of four bonus songs by Jimmie Rogers, along with the timeless masterpiece by Johannes Brahms, making for a grand total of 19 captivating songs!
