Random electrical gremlins after a battery change, help - billyhenderson - 09-29-2026 Ever since I had my battery replaced at a roadside place a couple of weeks ago my car has been acting possessed. The central locking sometimes doesn't respond, the dash flickers, and twice now the car has refused to start until I lock and unlock it a few times. It's a newer car so I'm assuming something needs to be reset or relearned after the battery swap, but the guys who did it clearly had no idea and just handed me the keys. I asked around and someone suggested certified vehicle electrical repair specialists near ICAD Abu Dhabi, said they sorted a similar issue on his car that turned out to be a body control module that needed recalibrating after the battery was changed. That sounds plausible but I want to confirm before I pay for diagnostics. Has anyone had weird issues after a battery replacement that got resolved? And is this something that happens often on modern cars, or did they damage something when they did the swap? Really hoping it's just a reset issue and not a fried module. |
